Description
DISPLACED – a poetic visual narrative
The images in this book are drawn from my archive of the past 30 years. Removed from their original context; detached from place, time and subject. Intuitively, I brought the images together, transforming outer worlds into inner worlds. Together they tell a new story, my story about feeling displaced, but a story that leaves room for personal interpretation. Through visual rhyme, a poetic narrative emerges around the theme of ‘displacement’.
Displacement is a major theme in society today. Many people can identify with it – through borders and crossings, but also in those quiet moments of wondering: do I belong here? It lives in both the small and defining moments of life, a universal human feeling.
