Maktak and Gasoline

The book “Maktak and Gasoline” was published in April 2018. It is a photo project about Point Hope, an indigenous whaling community in Arctic Alaska.

Dutch photographer Ellis Doeven has been photographing Point Hope since 2008, when she first travelled there. She studied photography at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague.
