20 September 2020: Buy My Darlings
On Sunday 20 September, Self Publishers United was showcasing and selling its collection of books at the photo sale event ‘Buy My Darlings’. The event was organized by Tara Fallaux and Martijn van der Griendt, at the NDSM site in Amsterdam (Ms. van Riemsdijkweg (MACA & SEXYLAND).
More than 30 photographers sold their work during the first edition of BUY MY DARLINGS. A one-day, free photo festival where photographers sell their ‘darlings’ directly to the public; original prints, photos in edition, photo books and photos in edition. There were already photos for sale from 50 euros.

25-26 January 2020: Amersfoort Photography Festival
Self Publishers United is proud to showcase its book collection and some of our member’s printed works at Holland’s very first dedicated art hall: The Rietveldpaviljoen. Partnering with 033Fotostad during the Amersfoort photography festival, Self Publishers United will 25-26 January 2020 take part in filling the event’s photobook market. This September, we participated once again in the Amsterdam photography fair’s book market. We had our own table at the book market were all books were being showcased for sale. The UNSEEN book market houses over 60 independent publishers. Each year, the book market focuses on new publications and offers a physical stage for book launches, signings and various forms of conversations on publishing practices.
24 March 2019: Photo Book Fair in Eindhoven 2019
This spring, Self Publishers United participated at the photo book fair in Eindhoven! Pennings Foundation organised their 3rd photo book fair. New, second-hand and antiquarian photo albums were being offered by booksellers, publishers, antique dealers and photographers.

09 December 2018: Special Publishers Fair 2018
This December, Self Publishers United will take part in the Special Publishers Fair (Beurs van Bijzondere Uitgevers) in the Paradiso, Amsterdam. At this fair, publishers from the Netherlands and Belgium present and sell their new and old titles in the field of literature, literary non-fiction and visual arts. The contribution of these specialist publishers to the Dutch-language book offer is indeed relatively small, but of high quality; every important Dutch author has been published by these publishers in the course of his or her career.

13 October 2018: Antwerp Academy Art Book Fair
During the 2018 Antwerp Academy Art Book Fair, Self Publishers United helped celebrate the festival’s fifth anniversary! This art book fair has become the largest of its kind in the Benelux. More than 120 exhibitors from home and abroad presented the best in the field of art books and artists’ publications from the 20th and 21st century. We had our own stand at the festival, amongst galleries and corridors of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp.

16 September 2018: Talk About Photography Utrecht
Self Publishers United will take part in this year’s ‘Talk About Photography‘ #TAP2018 on 16 September 2018 in Utrecht. The event will take place at: Het Huis Utrecht. The program starts at 10.30 and lasts until about 5 p.m. The doors open at 9.45 am. The program is made up of three blocks, each with an hour of break in between. For 75 euro (ex 6% VAT) you have access all day. That includes a delicious vegetarian lunch and unlimited tea and coffee during the breaks.

25 March 2018: 9 after 5 Photo Book Fair
Several members of Self Publishers United participated in the photo book fair organised by the 9after5 group. The book fair showcased the published works by a diverse group of local photographers. And an highly informative presentation on how to publish your photography book by the Fotoakademie. A big thank you to the 9after5 group for initiating this great event and for inviting us to take part.
