Description
I photographed in and around the marble quarries of Carrara (It.) for about 40 years, on and off. That resulted in 2 new books: SKIN and SLITS | CUTS | RELICS.
SLITS | CUTS | RELICS reflects on the impact of human interference in the pristine landscape of the Apuan Alps. The damage done is both poetic and highly irreversible at the same time. The author has always felt sceptical but touched by the raw beauty of the whole process.
The book has 100 pages, 68 b&w photographs in tritone and a separate dustcover that has been printed on both sides, in silver. Text (in silver) by Frits Gierstberg.
